Medic Pack by SkyeBD Medic Pack by SkyeBD
If you're thinking "HOLY @#$%^ It's a Medic Pack!" You'd be right. My nerdom has topped out at cosplaying the medic. Not a RED medic, oh no, those are a dime a dozen, but a BLU medic, now there's something rare. See the whole costume [link]

If you'd like to know how I constructed this monstrosity check out [link]
Want one for your very own? I'll be making them on request for $250 (includes gun and pack). Suspenders connect the pack & the gun lights up. Happy Cosplaying.
EDIT: Gun is now made with LEDs and more authentic handles for no additional charge. The LED model requires a 9Volt battery while the spotlight requires you charge the spotlight at least once a month. Gun also available in RED.

Is that a bottle of NOS?
I'm recognizing alot of these parts by sight, but I can't imagine it was very easy to construct it in such a way it held together solidly. That being said, this is a pretty excellent job. Planning, parts gathering and all, about how many hours did you pour into this?

It's actually a large white pill bottle and the top of a 2liter pop bottle caulked together. The pack part needs to be made out of light yet durable materials. Even being only 3pounds heavy it needs 5pounds of counterweight on my belt to keep the pack high on my back. Otherwise if you make a heavy pack it will sag without the propper counterweight or instrustial suspenders. The total hours constructing was probably 30+ but this was the first so additional time drafting, planning and protyping was used. See my cosplay.com site for progress pics.

Thanks for the detailed reply! I actually had no idea it needed that much counterweight to it.

Yeah, it is kind of ridiculous. I took off the silver 'vent' on the opposite side of the extinguisher and the entire pack was lopsided. So not only does it need counterweight but to be evenly weighted on both sides of the pack.

Medic's always been my favorite class, so my heart stopped when I saw this. xD

I'm tempted to save up for one of these. Not only would I use it to be a cosplay nerd, but I think I'd also use it to follow my friends around, flashing the beam at them until they got annoyed. Awesome work, man. =3

It takes about 1 month to complete. I start construction after I receive half of the payment. Ya know, so I can buy all the stuff it takes to make it. XD

You wouldn't possibly know how to make a krit instead of the norm uber would you?

Yes, I would! The Kritzkrieg is just an attachment to the regular Medigun.

Notice the difference? Its a small part around the barrel. It covers up the usual barrel and has two ports on either side showing a yellow light. I have plans using PVC pipes and LEDs as an attachment to my original Medigun design.

That is the only difference between the Medigun and the Kritzkrieg. I hope this helps.

How much more would that cost?
I honestly won't be using this, but my cousin will be, he is much more obsessed with the medic, and hes got a birthday coming around, so I thought I might get him one of these since my current prop skills are working towards a soldier rocket launcher.

It's an extra $50.00 for the attchment.
The Kritz attachment connects to the original Medigun and is easily removeable for switching between Kritz and normal. The Kritz also has lights which turn on and off.
Batteries not included. :)

very nice job...i actually saw you on cosplay.com before i saw you here...absolutely love the authenticity of your medi gun and i'm planning on making one for the penny arcade expo in august. I'm planning to go as a slightly less acurate one since i'm a girl...and since i can't TRULY be a medic from the game i'm gonna vamp it up...like a hot tf2 blue medic...at least thats the plan! I'm gonna use your step by step to make one however i have a couple questions like...

where did you get the all important camping lamp that charges that way? I would have never thought of that...also how well did your blue filter hold up to the heat? what is the end of your medigun made from? you didnt really talk about that part

thanks and great work!

I forgot. The end of the medigun is a Drain piece, covered with a clear CD (They come on the top or bottom of a stack of CDs. You could just use a blank CD or one you don't like.) Then ontop of the clear CD is a Toiletbowl flap part, you can ask for this at the hardware store; it's rubbery. It's all painted black except for the opening in the center of the toilet flap. I used a bottle cap to cover that while painting, just cuz it fit so nicely. okay..sheesh, I hope this helps.

PS. I'm a girl. :D I dedcided to be as accurate as possible, except I am using spiked heel boots (knee high) and I am going to put my hair up in a bun. I want to look like a strict & stiff german.

A layout of the gun parts can be found here [link] If you go to a hardware store with a print of that picture, they can find everything for you!! What a world we live in.

The Lamp is a spotlight. You can find the spotlight in any Target or Walmart. Walmart carries a Black&Decker brand, while Target carries a Durabuilt brand. They're exactly the same, except one is gray and one is red.

The filter has held up well, thursfar. You need to hold down the trigger to light up the gun, and I don't have the trigger held for more then 30secs at a time; mostly because the gun is heavy. Even if the filter does melt, it will buble outward first. The light does get hot but also cools quickly.

Thanks for commenting! And Good luck on your own medigun!
